HEXYLTRIMETHYLAMMONIUM BROMIDE - Introduction
hexyltrimethylammonium bromide is a cationic surfactant with the chemical formula C13H30BrN. It is a white crystalline powder with high solubility in water.

-Melting Point: about 170-175 ℃
-Boiling point: About 156 ℃
-high solubility in water, can be dissolved in Alcohols, Ketones and other organic solvents
-Has good surface activity and emulsifying properties
Use:
- hexyltrimethylammonium bromide is commonly used as an intermediate for the synthesis of ionic liquids
-Used as a surfactant, can be used in the fields of emulsifiers, Hygroscopic agents, cleaning agents and foaming agents
-Can be used as catalysts and solvents in organic synthesis reactions
Method:
A common synthesis method is through the reaction of trimethylamine and hexyl bromide. First, the hexyl bromide compound is reacted with trimethylamine, and under appropriate conditions, hexyltrimethylammonium bromide is produced.
